The intent of this standard is to provide an effective methodology for managing the hazards inherent to construction work in a systematic manner that can be easily integrated with the management of other technical aspects of a construction project. It is written in a manner that facilitates its direct incorporation into the specifications of construction contracts between the DOE and construction contractors or DOE M&O contractors and their construction subcontractors.
