PJS 2017-03, Preparation and Conduct of Protective Force Performance Testing

The Performance Test Working Group developed the performance test protocols delineated in this document, which combines several documents currently in use by DOE sites as performance test reference materials, including “Protective Force Protocols for ESS Supported Performance Tests and Exercises”, and “Rules of Engagement for Exercise Players”, both published March 12, 2007. The protocols were derived from a compilation and integration of widely recognized performance test “best practices, methods and procedures” in an attempt to capitalize on the effectiveness and efficiencies of their proven techniques. As a result, the document provides a standardized framework for the preparation and conduct of protective force performance tests that ensures a consistent approach and facilitates comparable site-to-site results for program managers.
