This PJS is revised from the November 23, 2020 posted PJS in response to comments received during the initial review in RevCom. One commenter non-concurred with the former PJS on the basis that the scope of the document is more appropriate for a Standard rather than a Handbook as defined in DOE O 252.1A, Technical Standards Program, Appendix A. AU accepts the comment and submits the revised PJS seeking concurrence to publish the revised Guide as a Standard. The intent is to produce a Standard that clarifies requirements and provides implementation guidance to support DOE’s diverse missions and ensure the continued protection of the public and the environment. Additionally, the Standard will incorporate a consolidated list of approved pre-approved authorized limits supporting DOE O 458.1 clearance of property requirements. AU is proposing to use established volumetric.
